Soil Moisture Sensors |

|---|---|---|
| EnviroPro | The EnviroPro is a capacitance probe designed and manufactured in South Australia. It is available in several configurations, all of which return values from sensors placed every 10cm along the probe length: - 40cm 4 sensor - 80cm 8 sensor - 120cm 12 sensor - 160cm 16 sensor. Each sensor returns soil moisture and soil temperature. Since the probe's launch in the mid 2000's they have proved to be the most reliable sensor on the market. View EnviroPro Brochure. |

| MP03 | The MP03 is a single level capacitance type soil moisture sensor which returns values of soil moisture and soil temperature. The sensor is fully potted and may be used on sites where only a single moisture value is required. View MP03 Brochure. |

| RK520 |
The RK520 is a single level sensor available in several different configurations. Each is based on the same form factor: a flat body from the end of which protrude a set of 3 stainless steel pins. The RK520 measures soil moisture using an SWR technique: a radio signal is sent down the pins and, when it reaches the soil at the end of the pins, some signal continues into the soil and some is reflected back. The ratio between these two components will change according to how much moisture is in the soil. This measurement technique gives accurate and repeatable moisture values. Thermistors on the pins are also used to measure soil temperature. The RK520-01 version returns soil moisture and soil temperature. The RK520-02 version returns values for soil conductivity (EC) as well. The EC measurement is made by measuring the conductivity between the pins, which makes for a much more robust measurement than the EC estimates returned by dual frequency capacitance probes. | RK500-05 |
The RK500-05 is an SDI-12 Soil Tension Sensor. The sensor uses a capacitance sensing element embedded in a porous ceramic block. Moisture will be drawn in and out of the ceramic as the soil moisture level changes, this in turn changes the capcitance of the medium which is converted into a soil tension value. Because the dielectric properties of the ceramic are fixed and kwown, the resultant tension values are accuracte and cover a wider range than offered by tensiometers. View RK500-05 Brochure. |
